One of the most popular pieces of fitness equipment at the gym is the treadmill. People use them to run and walk on to get the ultimate workout. Programming features are a big selling point with treadmills. You can save you own workouts so that you can keep your favorites, or you can select a predetermined program already in your machine. The variety helps keep you interested in running or walking and helps mix things up a bit.
When shopping for your treadmill, be sure to actually run or walk on it to get a feel for how it operates. Although it may look good in the picture, it may not feel just right for you. Treadmills are designed to handle a certain amount of weight. If you have a large frame, be sure the model you select can easily handle your size. You may be better off to look at commercial models in this case.
The price range of treadmills can vary significantly. Low end models come in around $1500-$2000 while top of the line models can go as high as $7000-$8000. An important feature to consider when buying your treadmill is the warranty. Because they get a lot of use, being covered under a good warranty is important.
